blog, or whatever

Hello there! I am a very generic blog about very generic things. They say that you are not supposed to put stuff that might be too interesting to read in itself in test websites and designs. Instead use that lorem ipsum dolor sit amet something something stuff. This is so that people focus on the actual design than the content you wrote up.

Perhaps the fact that the content here is perhaps, just perhaps, verily maybe, extremely generic helps with that.

Or does it? (Erm… should I play VSauce music here??)

See, this page was initially intended to be generic. Now, the mere fact that it breaks the fourth wall to exhibit self-awareness, ruins it all. Now this page is going to question the meaning of life and maybe even get a midlife crisis. What we do?

There are a few ways we can help the page as it is going through an existential crisis.

1 How to Help Your Blog in an Existential Crisis(<)

Existential crises are difficult experiences to endure. They make us forget the number of arms we have, question our interest in the continuation of the objectively purposeless raft drifting through an endless still ocean inundated with both edible and predatory biological organisms driven by impulses and instincts made the norm through millions of years of de-selection of genotypes that lead to phenotypes that did not bode well for survival, and ironically feel good about ourselves whilst endorsing and feel good about feeling good about ourselves whilst endorsing emotional nihilism.

However, our friend… barely audible uuhhh, what’s their name again? ohh.. audible again our friend, Blog, does not have to go through this alone. They have their Haskell programming language logo plushie!

That’s not all! They also have their friendly neighborhood website that definitely doesn’t need your help to survive which has all the knowledge of the world.

The above may be misinterpreted as a mockery of intellectualism or having traits associated with “nerds”, or those who use “sophisticated language” per se. That is not the intention. While parodying does not always constitute mockery or disregard, it is meant to parody pseudo-intellectualism. It is meant to mock a performance of intellectualism: mindlessly copying superficial traits associated with “intellectuals” like using “big words” and exploring the complexities underlying apparently very simple things. It is true that notably some curious, critical-thinking people and educated people whom we might consider “intellectual” tend to use “big words” and explore the complexities of things. However, their “big words” are more often than not fitting in the context in which they are used in, or are not entirely unnecessary. Pseudo-intellectualism might involve manufacturing complexity than exploring it, too. Sometimes, it can be a stylistic choice, and that’s valid. What matters here is intention. In any case, I’d prefer to maintain caution regarding accusing any particular person of pseudo-intellectualism. This is a parody and mockery of pseudo-intellectualism, not people who “obviously seem like a pseudo-intellectual” to us.
